Poptropica #8

After leaving the inventors house with my fresh new set of wings, I moved onto traveling to the time of the Mali Empire. I met this man who was holding some documents. He told me if I wanted them I would have to help him solve a puzzle. After finishing putting together the broken painting I was handed the documents which included the declaration of independence. I definitely needed to bring back these documents to the United States and I think this time it will do the trick and I will have saved the world once again. :)

*returning the declaration to the united states and saving the future*

Assignment #5

How does replaying the game affect your interpretation?

Replaying the game affects my interpretation since I already know what to expect from the game. If I played the game a second time I would probably have different responses to 1-5 since I would have a better understanding of the story and characters.

Poptropica #7

I ended up giving the vikings their hammer amulet and left them after that. I made my way up the mountain and found a cave which led me to a notebook. It belonged to somebody because it had a lot of writing in it. I found a date on it which led me to get out my handy dandy time traveler and travel back to 1516 A.D. It took more time than I expected but I finally found rightful owner to the notebook. I didn't want his secrets to get out to the world. I guess he was an inventor. He gave me a pair of wings that he made that actually worked and could make you fly. It was pretty cool!!
*me and my new wings flying down to leave*

Poptropica #6

Turns out the Statue of Liberty I found was just a model, but Barthodli was very excited to have it back so he could finish making the real structure. Since I returned the model safely it was time for me to get on with my mission. I took out my golden time traveler and pushed it only to find myself at the Great Wall of China. I was awarded a hammer shaped amulet for winning a matching game. I took the amulet with me around my neck and went to the next year. I landed on a giant boat filled with huge vikings with big beards.
*me and vikings after we got off of the ship. (also why am i always creepy smiling its giving me weird vibes and it looks like the vikings are weirded out by it too)*

Poptropica #5

I was gifted an Aztec warrior mask which made me look super cool. I still needed to finish my mission, so I was back off to time traveling. I'm not really quite sure where it took me but it was very cold and rocky. There was snow and I kept slipping on ice so it was hard for me to jump to different platforms. You also have to be careful of falling icicles or they will knock you right back off of a platform. It happened to me a couple times and I kind of felt bad for my little guy because he looked like he was in pain. When I reached the top of the icy mountain I found the statue of liberty so I decided I was going to take it back to where it belonged in New York.
*Ouch!! I got hit by an icicle!!!*
*Look, here I found the statue of liberty*

Assignment #4

How does the game respond to your/your character's actions?

Poptropica allows you to talk to other characters in the game but there are different characters on each island. I am able to click on a person to get a short list of options to be able to speak with them. Some of the people, depending on how important they are to helping me finish my mission, will remember throughout the time I am on that island. Other characters don't really remember who I am but they are just there to kind of hint where I need to go next.

Poptropica #4

I traveled back in time to the Aztec age where I was ordered to find a missing piece of their stone plaque that was very important to their culture. I looked everywhere but could not find the missing piece. I decided I would travel random years until I found this stone piece. I finally found it sitting in the most random spot on a roof which was kind of annoying because who would ever hide something on a roof? Anyways, I brought back the stone piece to theAztecs and they were so glad that I had found it, but I knew I still wasn't finished with my mission so I needed to get going.
*Putting the stone piece back into place for the Aztecs*

Poptropica #3

I have finished my first assignment which was kind of challenging but I'm glad I finally made it through to see the other islands. Next stop is Time Tangled Island. I landed on this island and was sent with orders to fix a time machine and repair all of the problems in each time period. I was led to a laboratory where the time machine was held and turned it on to go forward 50 years. I met my old lady self and she warned me that I needed to fix everything before it was too late. She gave me a golden compass that took me to the past in different centuries. I first started off in Greece where I found an old phonograph. I played it and I knew I had to return it to who lost it. I traveled forward in time to return the phonograph so I could be able to move on with the mission and help fix this mess between centuries.
Me meeting future me! Wow do I look old...

Poptropica #2

I have figured out how to fix the plane after countless tries. Turns out all I needed to do was bring some guy that I met along the way who said that I needed to retrieve him three things before he could give me the right tools to fixing the plane. Me and my friend flew back up into the sky and made it back in race. I'm not really sure where the race ends but I think it's some crazy robot bunny island. There were a lot of people with weird bunny ears on but they seemed like they were possessed... which was kind of scary. I found an old man who told me that someone had taken over the town of Carrotville and stole all of their carrots. He led me to a creepy old factory that sounded like it was going to fall apart. I found a map when I walked in that will help me find my way around the factory. I made my way to a room with a giant computer. I opened it and used a password i found earlier and was able to dissable the giant bunny robot before it could send all of the carrots up into space.
After my great accomplishment of defeating the bunny robot.

Assignment 2

How does the player respond to challenges?

My character in Poptropica responds to challenges by traveling to certain places at the right time for the right reasons. By traveling by hot air balloon to the correct islands my character can accomplish tasks. A big challenge in this game at the beginning is learning what to look for. I had to learn what place to travel to and who to talk to. Some people were not willing to give me information and help, so me (my character) had to figure everything out all by herself.

Assignment #1

In Poptropica, the point is to travel to different islands and find missions to do. You have to find clues around each island to be able to solve riddles and obstacles that are in your way to accomplishing the mission. There are some challenging things to figure out through the game. You  could get stuck easily if you can't find a certain missing part or figure out where to go. There is always little people around each island you can ask questions to be able to find your way around islands and what to do next. The game is very limited on what it allows you to do but it still makes it fun and easier to understand. It allows you to move in any direction and pick up items. It also allows you to keep items that you have found to be able to take them out and use them later on if you need them in a mission.
